xOverview
MetroPlex from Seachem is a versatile treatment designed to support aquarium health in both saltwater and freshwater setups. It targets common protozoan and anaerobic bacterial challenges that can affect gills, fins, and body tissue, all while aiming to preserve the tank’s overall balance. The formula blends into transparent water and can be a flexible option for mixed tanks, helping you manage occasional disease signs without dramatic changes to the routine.
Delivery Options
- Water dosing directly in the display or quarantine tank for flexible, on water treatment
- Medicated food mix with Focus for easier ingestion and for tanks housing sensitive invertebrates
Key Benefits in Practice
- Does not adversely affect the filter bed and is easily removed with carbon when treatment ends
- Treats both internal and external infections regardless of delivery method
- Can be dosed into water or combined with Focus in a medicated food mix
- Addresses several protozoan and anaerobic bacterial diseases in fish in a practical, tank-friendly way
- When used in a medicated food mix, is suitable for tanks that contain invertebrates
Practical Use and Tips
Plan ahead by checking water quality and observing fish activity as you apply MetroPlex. If you opt for medicated food, ensure acceptance by tank inhabitants and monitor feeding behavior. The approach is designed to be gentle, reducing the risk of overdosing when used as directed. Expect gradual improvements rather than immediate, dramatic changes.
After the treatment window, you can use activated carbon to help clear residues and restore water clarity. MetroPlex works alongside your tank's existing filtration and biological balance, letting you continue routine maintenance while you assess fish response.
