This timeframe includes the return transit time to our facility (5 to 10 business days), return processing once received (3 to 5 business days), and the time required by your bank to complete the refund (5 to 10 business days). In many cases, refunds are issued sooner.

Seachem Prime is a complete conditioner designed for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. It works quickly to remove chlorine and chloramine from tap water, helping your bio filter begin its work with cleaner input right away.
Prime also actively detoxifies heavy metals found in normal tap water, which can be a common concern when setting up a new tank or refreshing water during changes. This combination can help you maintain a safer environment for species such as bettas or tetras while your biological filtration catches up.
For new or replacement water, add 5 mL (one capful) for each 200 L (50 US gallons). It is recommended to add Prime to the new water first. If tap water has exceptionally high chloramine levels, a double dose may be used safely. For smaller volumes, use 2 drops per gallon.
Whether you are setting up a new tank or performing regular water changes, Prime helps minimize the irritants carried by tap water and supports your biofilter’s ongoing work. The product is designed to be added to the water before introducing fish, aiming to make the transition feel less stressful for aquatic inhabitants and easier for you to manage.
Q: How do I dose Seachem Prime for a water change?
A: Add 5 mL per 200 L (50 gallons) of new water; for small volumes, 2 drops per gallon; double dose for very high chloramine if needed.
Q: Can Prime detoxify metals and ammonia in tap water?
A: It detoxifies heavy metals in tap water and ammonia/nitrite for about 48 hours to protect fish during changes.
